Job Description
Our client, a metal recycling organisation in Edinburgh is looking to expand their team by bringing on a Welder/Fabricator.
Some of the activities that you will be involved in will include but may not be limited to:
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Maintaining a fleet of road haulage vehicles
- Work to a high standard to repair, refurbish and maintain a fleet of skips and containers.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Important requirements:
- Experience with a range of welding equipment
- Experience with cutting and other fabrication equipment
- Welding/Fabricating qualifications relevant to the role
