Job Description
A leading heavy engineering manufacturer is looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join a skilled maintenance and repair team within a large-scale industrial plant.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for welding, fabrication and repair work across plant equipment including presses, furnaces, tooling and machinery supporting both planned maintenance and reactive breakdown work.
Duties include:
Sub Arc welding set up and operation
Heavy fabrication and structural repairs
Welding repairs from engineering drawings & procedures
Working on materials including Stainless, Titanium, Inconel & Carbon Steel
Burning / lancing work
Pre-heating using torches or furnaces
Responding to plant breakdowns and urgent repairs
Visual weld inspection and quality checks
Supporting installation of new or modified equipment
Recording work progress via computer systems
What They’re Looking For:
Time served Welder / Fabricator
Strong Sub Arc Welding experience
Background in heavy engineering / industrial environments
Confident reading technical drawings
Experience with large fabrications or plant repairs
Comfortable working at heights / confined spaces
Strong focus on safety and quality
Fabrication skills alongside welding essential
