Job Description

Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver (Permanent)

We are recruiting an experienced Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver for a well-established manufacturing business based in Oakham. The company is a world leader in the production of synchronous alternators and is looking to strengthen its warehouse team with a reliable and skilled operator working on a 08:00-16:30 shift. THIS IS A PERMANENT ROLE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport and deliver components and parts to production assembly lines
  • Load and unload lorries safely and efficiently
  • Prepare, pick, and pack customer orders for despatch
  • Support goods in and despatch processes, including system updates
  • Assist with stock control, inventory management, and location accuracy
  • Maintain correct and safe storage of goods, ensuring SWL compliance
  • Use warehouse systems (e.g. SAP or similar WMS) for stock updates and administration
  • Identify and report warehouse process issues, suggesting improvements
  • Provide flexible support across all warehouse functions as required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Requirements

  • Valid ITSSAR-accredited Reach Truck licence (essential)
  • Valid Counterbalance forklift licence (essential)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in warehouse operations and stock control
  • Experience using SAP or similar warehouse management systems (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work at pace in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Flexible and willing to support occasional overtime/weekend work if required
  • Problem solving mindset with a proactive, can do attitude

Hours

08:00 – 16:30 (30 minute unpaid lunch break) Monday to Friday

Pay Rate

£28,080 per annum
