Job Overview

Portfolio Hedging & Optimization (PH&O) structures and executes risk transfer trades. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the origination and ongoing management of these structured trades.

Accountabilities

  • Partner with internal Structuring, Treasury and Middle Office to execute new structured transactions as part of a deal team.
  • Ongoing management and optimization of the structured transactions, partnering with internal teams and external parties such as law firms/verification agents, rating agencies and agent banks.
  • Support investor engagement, including queries related to existing and prospective transactions.
  • Support wider portfolio optimisation initiatives, including analytics, returns and model enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance the Colonnade trade management platform, driving system improvements and ensuring high quality risk, capital and business data to support balance sheet optimisation and operational insights.
  • Contribute to infrastructure changes linked to regulatory and bank wide initiatives, while maintaining strong governance through clearly defined, documented and consistently executed controls.
  • Proactively manage issues, audit remediation and continuously improve control frameworks through standardisation, automation and enhanced processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Treasury, Risk, Technology and Finance stakeholders and provide oversight and day to day leadership to the Capital Management (Glasgow) team, including issue resolution and escalation.

Required Qualifications

  • Analytical and problem solving skills with a detail oriented approach in fast paced environments.
  • Some level of experience in risk and controls within a financial services environment.
  • Intellectually curious, proactive and motivated to improve processes, drive efficiencies and suggest new approaches.
  • Hands on contributor with strong follow through, capable of supporting both governance and operational aspects of the programme.
  • Experience in operational management lifecycle of processes or trade.
  • Exposure to change management processes, managing prioritisations and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Clear and effective communication, capable of presenting and explaining technical concepts to non technical audiences.
  • Understanding of capital, returns (including RWA, RoRWA, PD, LGD and EAD).
