Technician (Food and Fashion Technologies) – Part time, Permanent
Erskine Stewart Melville Senior School is recruiting a Technician to join the Food and Fashion Technologies Department on a part time, permanent basis. This term time only role is available from 15 June 2026, with a potential commencement date of 17 August 2026 in line with the new academic session. The position is a job share working 19 hours per week: full days on Monday and Tuesday, and a half day in the morning on Wednesday. The offering salary is £12,568 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and organize practical resources, including equipment and materials, to support teachers in the Food and Fashion Technologies Department.
- Lead and complete routine and non routine maintenance checks, including cleaning, testing, and repairing equipment before and after lessons.
- Ensure adequate stock and materials are in place so lessons can run as planned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant experience in a similar role supporting a department in fashion and/or food.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety policies, codes of practice, and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with teachers, year group leaders and pupils.
