Support Workers – Edinburgh

Locations: Oxgangs, St John’s Hill, Leith, Tollcross & Bruntsfield

Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour, increasing after 12 weeks

Shift Patterns: Days, Backshifts & Nightshifts on a 24-hour rota

ASA Recruitment is currently seeking experienced Support Workers to join a number of well-established services across Edinburgh. These services support adults facing homelessness, recovery challenges, and a range of complex support needs, helping them move towards greater stability, independence, and improved wellbeing.

This is an opportunity to join dedicated teams that make a genuine difference every day. You’ll be supporting individuals within supported accommodation and community-based environments, providing practical and emotional support while encouraging positive outcomes and personal development.

The Role

  • Providing one-to-one support tailored to individual needs
  • Assisting individuals to access healthcare, appointments, education, and community resources
  • Supporting people to develop life skills and maintain tenancies
  • Promoting wellbeing, safety, and social inclusion
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to support planning
  • Working independently and lone working when required

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting adults affected by substance misuse is essential
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and complex support needs
  • A calm, professional, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to maintain professional boundaries while offering compassionate support
  • Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rota including days, backs, and nights

Qualifications and Registration

  • SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent is desirable
  • SSSC registration and PVG membership are preferred
  • Support can be provided to obtain the relevant registrations if required
