The Role

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will help deliver meals and refreshments to patients, staff and visitors across a range of clinical and retail settings. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Duration: Permanent
- Location: Vale Of Leven General Hospital
- Hours: Part time (14.4 hours per week)
- Working Pattern: Monday-Friday
Salary information: Pro rate for part time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of catering services to patients, staff, visitors and for functions within the hospital.
- Regeneration of patients’ meals either centrally or at ward level.
- Plating patient meals at the point of service as advised by nursing staff.
- Cleaning and wash up of all equipment, machinery, and crockery associated with catering services.
- Assist food production staff with the basic preparation of meals.
- Undertake picking & packing of patient meal components.
- Support the overall delivery of patient meals to ward level.
- Comply with Food Hygiene Regulations with regard to food service.
Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge of all aspects of catering services, although training will be provided to new starts.
- Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate (training provided).
- Meals regeneration and service (training provided).
- Good communication and customer care skills.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH (training provided).
- Knowledge of Lifting & Handling (training provided).
- Knowledge of Infection Control practices (training provided).
- Able to work under pressure.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
