Job Title: Structural Engineer
Salary: 30- 40k
Our client is looking for a Structural Engineer to strengthen their Structural Engineering team in their Glasgow office. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering structural engineering design and project delivery solutions to residential, commercial, education, blue light and local authority projects across the UK.
The Structural Engineer Role
The Structural Engineer role will typically entail the development and delivery of technical structural engineering solutions to the post planning stages of projects including taking a lead role on the delivery of our multi-disciplinary service offering on building-led projects.
There is substantial variety in the projects that they deliver, ranging from a domestic scale up to around 80M contract value. There will be opportunities for involvement throughout this scale.
The role would suit someone with a strong technical bias who is keen to apply a detailed knowledge of design principles and standards to working project solutions. Experience of structural design in all common building materials is essential.
A diligent work ethic, keen to deliver a quality service;
Strong communication, personal effectiveness and team working capabilities;
A sound grasp of key engineering principles;
A detailed knowledge of structural Design Standards for all common building materials and foundations;
Detailed knowledge of relevant software packages including Tekla Structural Designer and Tedds, an outline capability with AutoCAD and knowledge of Revit and the BIM process would be advantageous;
Experience in reinforced concrete frame construction is particularly desirable;
Providing solutions to technical problems;
Leading multi-disciplinary engineering service delivery on the working stages of projects;
Have the ability to plan and monitor workloads to achieve project demands;
Effectively communicate and co-operate within a project team to support the achievement of a project brief through the provision of efficient and professional services;
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues throughout the Company, clients and suppliers;
Share both knowledge and experience with other team members
