SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN PALLIATIVE MEDICINE

Tayside Specialist Palliative Care Services

Based in Cornhill Macmillan Centre, Perth Royal Infirmary

7.5 PA (includes 1.5PA and 5% availability supplement for on call)

Tayside Specialist Palliative Care Services welcomes applications for a substantive Specialty Doctor post in Palliative Medicine. The post is based at Cornhill Macmillan Centre, Perth Royal Infirmary and offers a broad experience of Specialist Palliative Care delivery across specialist inpatient, acute hospital and community settings. The successful applicant will join an experienced multidisciplinary team, which includes 3 consultants, 2 specialty doctors, 1 clinical fellow and various trainees (Palliative Medicine, FY, GP and IMT trainees).

This post is 6PA plus 1.5PA and 5% availability supplement for ‘2nd on call’ for the Tayside Specialist Palliative Care Service, with a 1 in 7 frequency which includes weeknights and weekends.

NHS Tayside has a Tayside-Wide Specialist Palliative Medicine Service which supports patients and staff in all health care settings including: home, nursing homes, community hospitals, two specialist palliative care units and two University teaching hospitals.

Applicants must have full registration with the GMC and at least 4 years, full time, post graduate training (or its equivalent on a part time basis). This must include some experience in Palliative Medicine or a closely allied specialty such as Oncology.
