Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Specialty Doctor to fill a 10 session post within the Oral and Maxillofacial Department. The successful candidate will join a team of 3 consultant colleagues, 3 full time specialty doctors and junior training grade staff.
Role and Responsibilities
The post involves a wide range of treatments including:
- Management of oro facial sepsis and facial trauma.
- Dentoalveolar surgery.
- Orthognathic surgery.
- TMJ arthroscopy and arthroplasty.
- Salivary gland disease management.
- Head and neck cancer services.
- Oral medicine.
- Treatment of skin malignancy within the head and neck.
Additional responsibilities include non resident on call at 2nd on call level and participation in the emergency on call service. Previous experience in emergency OMFS presentations is required.
Location
The primary base is Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. OMFS operates within the Surgical Directorate of the Acute Services Division.
Qualifications
- Full registration with the General Dental Council.
- At least 4 years of full time postgraduate training, a minimum of 2 years in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Previous experience in oral medicine and inpatient management is desirable.
Working Pattern
We consider part time or job share arrangements and provide a number of family friendly policies.
