Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in a busy hotel kitchen setting. The ideal candidate will be used to a busy kitchen and assist the Head Chef in overseeing food preparation, ensuring high-quality dishes, and maintaining a smooth kitchen operation.
Duties
– Assist the Head Chef in creating and executing menu items
– Supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking
– Ensure adherence to food safety standards and regulations
– Manage inventory and ordering of supplies
– Contribute to menu planning and development
– Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
– Support the Head Chef in training and mentoring kitchen staff
Experience
– Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant environment
– Strong culinary skills with proficiency in various cooking techniques
– Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
– Experience in team management and leadership
– Qualifications in culinary arts or relevant field are desirable
