OUR HOTEL

We are currently looking for a Sous Chef to join our Kitchen Team at the Hilton Aberdeen TECA. The successful applicant for this role will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be passionate about every aspect of food and cooking and show that they care.

Your new role of Sous Chef will see you working in the Hilton Aberdeen on the site of The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA). The 200-bedroom Hilton Hotel on the site of the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre hosts Quarter House Bar & Grill, Flight Path, The only Executive Lounge in Aberdeen and Devona Spa & Leisure

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF AT OUR HOTEL

As Sous Chef, you’ll be the right-hand to the Head Chef, helping lead the kitchen team and ensuring every service runs smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

    Supporting the Head Chef in managing the day-to-day kitchen operations

    Leading and inspiring the kitchen brigade during preparation and service

    Maintaining Hilton’s high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

    Assisting with menu development, bringing fresh ideas and seasonal creativity

    Managing stock levels, ordering, and inventory control

    Ensuring strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are maintained

    Training and mentoring junior chefs to help develop the next generation of culinary talent

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • A skilled chef with experience in a fast-paced kitchen and a passion for great food.
  • Have experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a busy Kitchen
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop the team while maintaining high standards.
  • Creativity and a love for experimenting with new flavours, contributing fresh ideas to the menu.
  • Excellent organisational abilities, from managing inventory to keeping the kitchen workflow smooth.
  • A sharp eye for detail, ensuring presentation and quality are consistently top-tier.
  • A team player with a positive attitude, ready to jump in wherever needed to support the kitchen.
  • High energy and adaptability, thriving in a dynamic environment where every day brings new challenges.
