Job Description
Site Reliability Engineer – Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Kubernetes – HashiCorp – 12 month contract – Glasgow Hybrid (3 days onsite)
I have an immediate opportunity for an SRE / Google Cloud Consultant on a major GCP implementation programme for our client in central Glasgow. Flexibility to work 3 days onsite is expected.
In particular, you will be joining a multi-location engineering squad responsible for developing and supporting their secure Vault services. In this role, you will be designing and improving systems, streamlining operational processes, and delivering high-quality, scalable solutions for the business.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver and support Vault services in a Google Cloud environment.
- Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to improve service performance, automation, and observability.
- Contribute to service onboarding, integration with existing platforms, and compliance with architectural standards.
- Take part in Agile ceremonies, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure best practice.
- Share knowledge and expertise through documentation, presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Participate in the on-call rota, responding to operational incidents where required.

- Extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform technology in enterprise scaled environments.
- Excellent Kubernetes knowledge and practical experience.
- Background delivering and maintaining enterprise-level applications and services.
- Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, and automation scripting (Python/Bash).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault.
- CI/CD expertise with Jenkins.
- Relevant GCP or HashiCorp certifications.
- Experience migrating workloads to GCP and/or GKE.
