Job Description

Site Engineer – Concrete Repairs (QA Focus)

Locations: Queensferry & Livingston
Rate: £300 per day (CIS)
Duration: 6-12 months (with potential extension)

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading contractor delivering two major concrete repair schemes across Queensferry and Livingston. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer who excels in quality assurance and reporting, rather than traditional setting out duties.

The Role
This position is heavily focused on QA, compliance, and technical reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring all repair works meet required specifications and standards across both sites.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing quality assurance processes on concrete repair works
  • Producing detailed as-built records and reports
  • Accurately measuring and recording:
    • Concrete depths and repairs
    • Rebar installation and positioning
    • Associated structural elements
  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with design specifications and industry standards
  • Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and management to maintain high-quality delivery
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation and QA records for project handover

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on concrete repair or structural projects
  • Strong background in QA, inspections, and as-built reporting
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience with measurement and documentation of concrete and rebar works
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality control
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent preferred)

Note: This role does not involve setting out – the focus is entirely on QA and reporting.
What’s on Offer

  • Competitive rate of £300 per day (CIS)
  • Long-term opportunity (6-12 months) with potential for extension
  • Work on high-profile, technically interesting repair schemes
  • Supportive project environment with a strong emphasis on quality delivery
