Job Description
Our client is an established groundworks contractor delivering projects across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors throughout Scotland. While groundworks remain at the core of the business, the company also undertakes infrastructure and general civil engineering works and continues to expand its capability across a wider range of civil engineering activities.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of groundworks and civil engineering packages across a variety of project types and site environments.
This role would suit an engineer who is confident working on site, adaptable, and keen to be involved in projects beyond traditional housing groundworks while still maintaining a strong technical grounding.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for groundworks and civil engineering works including drainage, roads, earthworks and substructures
- Interpreting drawings, specifications and construction information
- Carrying out site surveys, levels and measurements using Total Station and GPS equipment
- Supporting the delivery of works across residential, commercial and industrial projects
- Maintaining accurate site records, quality documentation and as-built information
- Assisting site management with daily engineering and technical requirements
- Monitoring quality of works and ensuring compliance with specifications
- Supporting health & safety requirements including RAMS
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider site team
- Assisting in the identification and resolution of technical issues on site
Candidate Profile
- Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent)
- Experience working as a Site Engineer within groundworks, infrastructure or civil engineering
- Confident in setting out and surveying using modern equipment
- Comfortable working with a degree of autonomy while being part of a wider site team
- Adaptable and capable of working across different project types and sectors
- CSCS card required
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across Scotland
