Job Description
The Clancy Group Ltd, a prominent company in the construction and T&D sector, is currently seeking a Site Banksman to join their team on a contract basis. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and machinery on-site, particularly with a focus on utilities and substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and guiding the movement of vehicles and machinery around the construction site
- Ensuring safety procedures are followed during all lifting operations
- Communicating clearly with crane operators and other site personnel to ensure safe and precise operations
- Monitoring site activities to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with all site workers
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and site-specific rules
- Assisting with general site activities and supporting the site management team as required
- Conducting routine checks of equipment to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose
Job Requirements:
- Experience in the construction sector, ideally with experience in utilities or substation projects
- Relevant certifications including CSCS, Slinger/Signaller (Banksman), and IPAF
- Proficiency in coordinating heavy machinery and vehicle movements on construction sites
- Strong awareness of health and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve potential safety issues
- Capability to operate under pressure and adhere to strict safety standards
- Flexibility to work in different site conditions and adjust to varying project requirements
