Chartered Structural Engineer
Location: Edinburgh
We are working with a respected employee-owned engineering consultancy that is looking to expand its 35-member building structures team in Edinburgh by hiring a Chartered Structural Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary firm known for delivering innovative and sustainable designs across the UK and internationally for nearly 50 years.
The Role:
As part of a close-knit team of 11, you’ll collaborate with a Director, Senior Associate, 3 experienced engineers, 2 graduates, and 3 technicians. You’ll be responsible for running multiple projects, mentoring junior team members, and producing high-quality engineering designs.
Current Projects:
The Edinburgh team is currently engaged in a diverse range of projects, including:
- Residential and educational developments for Edinburgh Council
- Large Net-Zero project at Heriot-Watt University (construction phase)
- Royal High School redevelopment
- Links View and Cables Wind retrofit projects
- Several distillery developments
- Glenfinnan Viaduct project
About You:
- Chartered status with a recognised institution (essential)
- Proficiency in Tekla and Masterseries software
- Experience with FEA software such as SCIA
- A proven track record in successfully managing and delivering projects
- Strong mentorship skills, with experience guiding junior engineers
