Senior Sales Advisor – Proposals

Primary Responsibilities

  • Having an unwavering focus on risk and opportunity management throughout the project lifecycle, identifying risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies, and engaging with key stakeholders to ensure adequate management.
  • Leading tendering activities with support from Commercial Hubs and Functions, incorporating “Bid to Execute” project mobilization, contract negotiation and closure, and seamless launch of the main equipment project.
  • Leading deal dispositioning sessions and ensuring relevant lessons learned are captured and implemented into the business for continuous improvement and optimization of solutions and execution models.
  • Being instrumental in pricing activities, ensuring adherence to the win strategy, market conditions, and customer specific project viability constraints.
  • Understanding customer drivers and tender requirements and translating them into actionable and winning opportunity strategies.
  • Supporting the Proposal Coordinator in finalizing bid submission documentation and approvals, while undertaking other commercial and business priorities and initiatives as required.
  • Coordinating effectively with all key stakeholders, articulating and ensuring adherence to the capture plan win strategy, fostering a strong risk management culture, and integrating preferred offerings to meet customer needs and requirements.
  • Ensuring adherence to the deal management approval tollgate process to obtain necessary business approvals.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Delivering sustainable value for Baker Hughes by leading Early Engagement activities for the SPS Product Company.
  • Supporting the development of the deal capture strategy with Regional Sales, FEED studies, tendering, and securing new business contracts to maintain a strong backlog of successful, executable projects.
  • Supporting the region’s sales, order, and margin targets for the FPS business as part of the Global Early Engagement Commercial Team.
  • Owning the region strategy for EE Offshore & Onshore together with Sales, and driving capture planning, long term deal prioritization, and early engagement pipeline processes.
  • Providing leadership, challenging others constructively, building strong relationships, negotiating confidently with customers, and maintaining an unwavering drive to succeed.
  • Ensuring deal and project knowledge continuity through capture planning.
  • Leading opportunity pursuits in partnership with Regional Sales teams, nominated Project Managers/Directors, and the FPS COE proposals team to oversee early engagement studies, partner selections, tendering activities, and contract finalization.
  • Owning, developing, and evolving customer relationships and opportunity capture strategies alongside Sales to position FPS for winning key deals and maximizing price levels.
  • Influencing customer choices to position Baker Hughes for success while ensuring adherence to customer requirements, outcomes, and specifications.
  • Championing the “One Team” philosophy and culture, driving continuity from initial early engagement through delivery by interacting with customers, internal functions, leadership, and other stakeholders, while mentoring pursuit teams to ensure alignment.

Qualifications

  • Have bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline from an accredited university or relevant industry experience within the product line.
  • Have proven expertise in sales strategy, tendering activities, and contract negotiation on complex oil & gas projects, preferably subsea.
  • Be skilled in leading opportunity pursuits, capture planning, and early engagement processes to secure high value deals.
  • Have strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, bid preparation, and adherence to win strategies and customer requirements.
  • Be adept at building and maintaining customer relationships, influencing decisions, and positioning the organization for success in competitive markets.
  • Have demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross functional teams, drive risk and opportunity management, and ensure seamless project mobilization.
  • Be recognized for leadership, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring teams to deliver optimized solutions and executable projects.
