We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Private Client Solicitor to join our team.

The Role

This role is ideal for a professional looking to advance their career in a supportive, forward-thinking firm. You’ll take a leading role in providing exceptional service to our clients and mentoring our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executry Management: Manage estate administration, provide advice to executors and beneficiaries, and ensure smooth distribution of assets.
  • Inheritance Tax (IHT) Planning: Offer expert IHT planning and compliance advice, including preparing tax accounts and minimising liabilities.
  • Trusts: Advise on creation, management, and dissolution of trusts, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Wills: Draft and advise on bespoke wills for clients with varying personal and financial needs.
  • Powers of Attorney: Prepare and advise on financial and welfare Powers of Attorney.
  • Guardianships: Assist clients with guardianship applications and act as a financial guardian where appropriate.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong client relationships, managing portfolios with a client-focused approach.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior solicitors, provide guidance to support staff, and contribute to the growth of the Private Client team.

Requirements

  • Essential:
  • Qualified Solicitor with 5-10 years PQE in Private Client law.
  • Strong expertise in Executry management, IHT planning, Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Guardianships.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Scottish private client law.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and client care skills.
  • Desirable:
  • STEP membership or willingness to achieve this qualification.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring legal teams.
