Summary of Role

To provide comprehensive support to the Real Estate Finance team, utilising extensive experience and a strong working knowledge of legal concepts and procedures to facilitate tasks related to real estate finance transactions.



Responsibilities


  • Preparing, reviewing and reporting to clients on real estate finance documents including dispositions, leases, standard securities, loan documentation and other documents and security relating to real estate finance transactions.

  • Examining and reporting to clients on title (including both Land Registered and Sasine titles).

  • Reviewing and reporting to clients on or assisting in the preparation of certificates of title in relation to properties for real estate finance transactions (including lease reporting).

  • Reviewing and reporting to clients on deeds of servitude, deeds of conditions and lease management documentation.

  • Drafting/reviewing board minutes and corporate authorisations.

  • Drafting/reviewing discharges of standard securities.

  • Instructing and reviewing searches and external reports as well as attending to registrations at Registers of Scotland.

  • Collating conditions precedent to real estate finance transactions and updating clients throughout.

  • Carrying out post settlement administration and dealing with general enquiries/issues including preparation of fee quotes.

  • Managing files ensuring all steps are completed within the timescales and service level agreements set.



Qualifications and Experience


  • Excellent communication skills and clearly articulate – need to be able to draft correspondence and legal documents with appropriate content and format.

  • Ability to interpret client needs and advise on procedure and progress.
