Job Description

The role – Lead Network Engineer

The salary – 65,000 – 75,000

The location – Hybrid working, must be able to attend sites twice a month between locations in Dundee, Aberdeen and Manchester.

I’m working with a fantastic organisation who are continuing to expand and grow their business having become a success in Scotland. They are seeking a Lead Network Engineer to lead their Network Operations Centre and assist with their ongoing growth and success. This is the perfect role for a Senior or Principle Network Engineer looking to help drive a growing NOC team forward and maintain critical network infrastructure for a growing company.

Your day-to-day:

  • Design and plan network solutions to meet specific organisational needs.
  • Lead the network team to meet goals in line with the organisations strategy.
  • Ensure the delivery of a consistent 24/7 NOC team through coaching, mentorship and leadership.
  • Manage and maintain a network comprised of multiple datacentres.
  • Work to enhance network reliability and serviceability.
  • Support internal teams by troubleshooting network devices and upgrades.
  • Work with senior management to select hardware and software that will improve performance and stability.
  • Develop network solutions through a budget conscious, multi-vendor approach.
  • Oversee the monitoring of key network infrastructure.
  • Participate in the network team’s on-call rota.

About you:

  • You’ll have proven experience in a lead, principle or senior network engineer role.
  • Experience in a 24×7 NOC environment, and strong incident management skills.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco network technologies, and be CCNP certified.
  • Experience with Dell technologies.
  • Experience designing and engineering network solutions.
  • Experience with networking in a datacentre environment.
  • You’ll be capable of providing a 24×7 NOC team through participation.
  • Experience with VMware and cloud technologies is desirable.
