Senior Mechanical Engineer (Biomass)

65,000 – 75,000 Basic + Vehicle + Progression + Pension + Package

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical guidance across a range of projects
  • Working with operational stakeholders and engineering teams
  • Producing mechanical engineering documents (equipment specifications, schedules, reports and drawings).
  • Supporting continuous improvement of procedures and processes to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Improve performance, cost efficiencies and reliability of the boilers
  • Supporting boiler annual inspections to drive asset availability
  • Lead on the design of modifications to existing plant in collaboration with the Principal Engineer

Background Required:

  • Ability to prepare project cost estimates for major CAPEX and plant improvement projects, including investment analysis
  • Strong understanding of LTHW, steam, HTHW and CHP generating plant and ancillary equipment
  • Highly developed knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory regulations relating to mechanical and electrical plant
  • Experience of managing relationship with client teams in a high energy demand environment
  • Knowledge of high, medium, and low voltage power supply and distribution systems associated with thermal energy plants.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all stakeholders
  • Chartered Engineer Status e.g CIBSE or; Energy Institute
  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
