What you’ll be doing:

  • Reporting directly to the Regional Financial Controller to oversee and support the management team, as well as managing and mentoring a team of up to 2 direct reports at accountancy / trainee accountancy level and up to 5 indirect reports at finance admin level
  • Production of monthly management accounts and reports and ownership of the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet items for mainly Energy and Total Waste Management contracts in the North East England area
  • Production of monthly consolidated forecast for sub-region and the preparation of annual budget, including the assistance and coordination of information flow in respect of annual statutory audit
  • Attendance at finance and operational regional meetings e.g P&L and performance reviews, forecast reviews, and budget reviews, including financial analysis and propose actions to improve.
  • Assistance in the production of the 5-year rolling Financial Business Plan
  • Production of complex monthly energy invoices and assisting credit control when required in securing payments.

What we’re looking for:

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant who can demonstrate a strong history in management or financial accounting background
  • Excellent working knowledge of spreadsheets
  • Ideally you will have strong leadership skills and a background in the Energy or Engineering industry, although this is not essential
  • Comfortable with manipulating and reporting on large volumes of data efficiently
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with all levels of stakeholders including strong presentational skills
  • Must be committed to delivering within set deadlines
  • Must have an inquiring and analytical mind, and be able to demonstrate good attention to detail
