Senior Information Rights Officer – Waverley Court
Salary: £40,501 – £47,639
Hours: 36 per week
Role Overview
Senior Information Rights Officer will manage complex statutory rights requests such as Subject Access Requests (SARs), Freedom of Information (FOISA) and other requests, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Freedom of Information Act, and relevant legislation. The role provides clear, practical advice to Council services, supports Information Rights Officers with case handling and contributes to improving the delivery of the information rights service.
Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to statutory rights requests, including SARs and FOISA.
- Ensure compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Freedom of Information Act.
- Provide clear and practical advice to Council services.
- Support and collaborate with colleagues and Information Rights Officers in case handling.
- Review casework and work with a range of services to resolve complex issues.
Qualifications
- Experience in information rights and relevant legislation.
- In-depth understanding of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Freedom of Information Act.
- Ability to apply legislation in a practical, balanced manner.
- Organised, confident communicator with a range of stakeholders.
- Capability to manage competing priorities.
