Job Description

Senior Estimator / Estimating Manager x3 Glasgow Hybrid Working: 2/3 days onsite Major Projects; Infrastructure Start Date: April 2024Contract Length: 3-6 monthsHours per week: 40Pay Rate: Up to £400 per day INSIDE IR35Job Responsibilities

  • Accurate and Thorough Estimates: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, considering all relevant factors such as labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project timelines.
  • Industry Knowledge: An excellent understanding of industry benchmarks / best practices and methods of measurements (e.g., RMM, MMHW etc).
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with our project management and engineering teams to provide cost input during project planning and development stages.
  • Budget Management: Support the project team in monitoring project budgets, providing timely cost reports, and recommending cost-saving measures without compromising safety and quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and construction methods to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Member of RICS, ACostE, ICES or similar professional association
  • Experience in Major project/programmes
  • Familiarity of government initiatives and policies.
  • Capable of converting estimates into budgets for control purposes, and proficient in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of risk, opportunity, and uncertainty control measures.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities to assess complex construction data and produce precise estimates.
  • A collaborative approach to work, with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Proactive in identifying potential challenges during estimating and proposing practical solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Proficient in relevant estimating software and tools to expedite the estimating process.
