Senior Electrical Engineer – Offshore Renewables

iO Associates is working with a pioneering renewable energy business developing innovative tidal and marine power systems. They’re seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and support the design, integration, and commissioning of offshore and onshore electrical infrastructure for cutting-edge marine energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical design, integration, and commissioning of offshore renewable systems

  • Prepare electrical specifications, SLDs, and layouts for HV, MV, and LV networks

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless system integration

  • Support procurement and supplier engagement for export cables, junction boxes, monitoring equipment, and cable management

  • Manage SCADA and grid connection interfaces

  • Conduct cable sizing, routing, and protection coordination studies

  • Oversee FAT, SAT, and commissioning of electrical equipment

  • Ensure compliance with offshore electrical regulations and best practice standards

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

  • 3+ years’ engineering experience in offshore renewables, marine energy, or subsea power

  • Strong knowledge of HV, MV, and LV systems in marine environments

  • Experience in cable design, termination, and subsea connections

  • Proficient in electrical design tools and project scheduling software

  • Excellent communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration

Desirable:

  • Procurement and supply chain engagement experience

  • Knowledge of SCADA and monitoring systems

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards
