Job Description
We are actively hiring for a professional and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team for full time (39.5) hours.
Flexibility to work nights as per ROTA is required.
Responsibilities
- Promote independence and improve mobility of residents in your unit or department.
- Support training and supervision of junior and new staff members in all aspects of care under the supervision of senior staff.
- Ensure the highest possible levels of care by supporting or assisting clients with all aspects of daily living.
- Assist clients with physical, emotional, and spiritual care needs.
- Provide supervision and attention to ensure clients retain comfort and dignity.
- Pay particular attention to assisting clients with limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties, using aids provided.
- Closely monitor clients who may be confused and/or have behavioural problems, assisting in the promotion of continence.
- Assist in the delivery of care for clients who are dying or have a progressive illness, including last offices.
- Complete, observe, and review care planning needs for clients, and record documented daily care plans as instructed and in line with company policies.
- Assist with social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue hobbies and activities within the care home.
- Carry out regular check ins on clients at intervals determined by senior staff.
- Make and change beds, ensure rooms are clean and tidy, and empty commodes, following the care home’s waste disposal policy.
- Use care home resources appropriately.
- Participate in and promote the quality culture of Handsale Care Group by adhering to Quality Assurance Systems.
Qualifications and Skills
- SVQ Level 3 or above, or equivalent in health and social care.
- Experience with safe handling of medicines (must have).
- Team supervision or care unit management experience.
- Satisfactory CRB/DBS checks.
- Competitive pay rate: £14.90 per hour.

We care for individuals with dementia and old age issues, and provide services such as palliative, respite, convalescent, Alzheimer’s, cancer, stroke, bipolar/manic depression, cerebral palsy, colitis & Crohn’s disease, and a separate EMI unit.
