Senior Backend Engineer, Real-Time Energy Markets (Flexible)

Job Description

SSE plc is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Energy Markets IT division. You will build high throughput, cloud first backend services for real time market execution in Azure, with on premise exposure.

You’ll work in an Agile team delivering resilient, secure services and embedding observability across distributed systems. The role emphasizes .NET/C#, Docker, Azure Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, and CI/CD pipelines, with a flexible first approach and base locations in Glasgow, Perth or
