SEN Teaching Assistant required for a Primary School in King s Cross
Full-time position starting September 2025
Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN)
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a school required

A welcoming and inclusive primary school based in King s Cross is seeking a dedicated full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September 2025. The school is a mainstream school catering to children with a variety of SEN needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health).
Your Role Will Include:

Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions

Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities

Encouraging pupil engagement, emotional well-being, and independence

Using structured systems such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables

Supporting children with behaviour regulation and applying consistent strategies

Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists, SENCo, and parents
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
-
Has at least 1 year of experience supporting children with SEN (school-based or equivalent)

Is calm, empathetic, and resilient when managing challenging behaviour

Communicates effectively and works well within a team

Demonstrates patience, flexibility, and commitment to inclusive education

Ideally has knowledge or training in Autism, Team Teach, Makaton, or safeguarding (desirable but not essential)
