Security Officer position delivering a professional, friendly first impression to staff and visitors, managing front of house processes and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a 5 star professional, friendly first impression to staff and visitors.
- Manage front of house processes including post, couriers, contractors, visitors and associated access and signing in procedures.
- Act in a friendly, proactive manner, using initiative to improve occupiers’ experience and collaborate with letting agents, building management and other property professionals.
- Set up, manage and own the front entrance area to reflect client and tenant expectations, greet and manage visitors, provide a professional first impression, and represent OCS knowledgeably.
- Manage couriers, post and deliveries; oversee security on Ground, 1st and 2nd floors throughout the day.
- Develop effective relationships with clients, agents and contractors, ensuring the front entrance is always immaculate.
- Liaise with the building manager to ensure contractors perform duties effectively and assist with additional tasks as requested.
- Report issues, manage to resolution through the correct process, and adopt a proactive problem solving approach.
- Perform general security duties, including fire route patrols to keep walkways and exits clear.
- Check passes, conduct searches, confiscate dangerous items and log all confiscations.
- Patrol all building floors for lost or unauthorised persons and observe health & safety issues.
- Report health & safety issues to the Building Manager during working hours and outside working hours as soon as reasonably possible.
- Accompany contractors and visitors within the building if required.
- Escort persons to correct departments, and respond to alarm activations within the building.
- Fill in incident reports and ensure sub contractor forms are signed when contractors enter and exit.
- Complete “Fire Test”, “Panic Alarm Testing”, “Disabled Refuge Points Testing” and “Screamer Point Test” as directed.
- Issue visitor and contractor passes, take in mail out of hours, manage Lost & Found property, and lock/open the building as needed.
- Maintain a proactive approach to problem solving and general security duties.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid SIA CCTV licence and be a manned guard.
