The role: Join NHSGGC as a Secretary within our Social Work Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care by supporting hospital Social Work staff in a fast paced and meaningful environment. Full Time, Permanent
Location: Glasgow Royal Infirmary/ Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 0830 am to 0430 pm
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality and comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Social Work Team, ensuring efficient support to patient care
- Manage telephone and face-to face enquiries from patients, relatives, carers and staff, prioritising and directing appropriately
- Accurately log and process referrals, maintaining up-to date records across Social Work systems
- Maintain and update Social Work databases and electronic patient case files, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
- Extract, collate and summarise data to support the production of reports relating to delayed discharges
- Prepare draft minutes of meetings and support communication across multidisciplinary teams
- Coordinate information sharing with internal teams and external agencies to ensure timely and effective service delivery
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
- HNC or SVQ III in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- Advanced keyboard skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a busy environment
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements within a healthcare setting
