Job Description
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated School Nurse with a post graduate Specialist Community Public Health (School Nursing) qualification, to join an evolving School Nursing Team in NHSFV.
Responsibilities
- Provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive, safe, person centred and effective school health service in the community, working in partnership with children, young people, families, care providers and other agencies.
- Accountable for case management within a defined caseload, delegating work to family support workers as appropriate.
- Operate an open access service to families and communities across home, education, community and primary care settings, promoting a healthy lifestyle within the local population.
- Deliver the ten national priority pathways as set by the Scottish Government.
- Act as the clinical specialist and independent autonomous practitioner within the School Nursing Team.
Qualifications
- First level registered nurse.
- Post graduate Specialist Community Public Health School Nursing qualification.
- Working knowledge of child protection systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery.
- Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
Benefits
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week; part time hours will be reduced pro rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
