Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts is recruiting a School Lunch Assistant to join a public sector client in Edinburgh.

Employment details

Role: School Lunch Assistant

Location: Edinburgh

Pay: £13.66 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday (typically 10:00-14:00)

Contract: Part time, temporary, term time

Start date: Beginning of August 2026

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare and serve tasty, nutritious school meals
  • Provide friendly, helpful service to pupils and staff
  • Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and safe
  • Work in a supportive and welcoming team

Qualifications

  • Approachable, dependable team player
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge (helpful but not essential)
  • Ability to stay calm and organised during busy periods
  • PVG Certificate required (new: £59, renewal: £18)
