Job Overview

We are recruiting an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technician registered with the GPhC to join the NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service. The role involves leading the Aseptic Dispensing Unit and ensuring high quality, safely prepared and supplied aseptically dispensed medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and management of the Aseptic Dispensing Unit.
  • Use expert knowledge to ensure safe, high quality preparation and supply of aseptically dispensed medicines.
  • Work independently and as part of the pharmacy team and wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Communicate effectively and build good relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
  • Lead, manage and develop staff, including training and performance review.

Qualifications

  • Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC.
  • Extensive post qualification experience.
  • Experience in managing staff and leading a team.
  • Ready to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom or willingness to apply for sponsorship.

Working Hours & Conditions

Variable shifts between 07:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, including weekend and public holiday rota. Part time hours may be considered. The Agenda for Change full time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week; part time hours will be reduced pro rata with no reduction in hourly rate.

Additional training will be provided to support the development of your career and we would consider cross working with other parts of the service for the right candidate.
