Job Overview
Position: Risk Analyst (Permanent Part Time – 24 hours per week)
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £33,520 – £50,280 depending on experience
Closing date: 20 July 2026
Key Responsibilities
- In partnership with local risk management, identify, assess and manage risks and controls, providing specialist oversight, challenge, feedback and guidance to ensure management accountability and understanding of the risk environment.
- Ensure dynamic management of risk, taking account of the changing risk profile of the business unit.
- Act as a risk subject matter expert to provide support and guidance to the business in managing risk BAU activity or strategic work.
- Undertake effective analysis and interpretation of risk MI, challenge the business and provide direction on key areas of risk to focus on, ensuring risks are managed within defined risk appetite.
- Embed a strong control culture by undertaking control testing in relation to high risk areas of the business.
- Build relationships and work effectively with the business and the wider Risk function to ensure consistent application of the risk framework and the development of best practice across Aegon.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proven experience in the analysis of complex MI data.
- Excellent written and oral communication and the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
- Ability to quickly assimilate significant technical risk information and translate it into digestible and actionable MI.
- Planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritise when faced with competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and available applications to support risk analysis.
- Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and their practical application.
Optional (Not Essential)
- Experience using Power BI, including creating and maintaining dashboards.
