Job Description

Are you passionate about helping others on their journey to recovery? At Morven Day Services in Kilmarnock, we provide a supportive environment for individuals to heal, grow, and thrive. We’re looking for compassionate and dedicated team members to help us continue delivering exceptional care and support through both one-to-one sessions and group activities, such as art, music, and relaxation.

At Morven Day Services, we believe in a person-centered approach. We encourage our clients to get involved in the planning and development of their services, ensuring they have a voice in shaping the activities they participate in. If you’re looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you!

Are you passionate about supporting individuals with mental health challenges? At Morven Day Services, we are looking for dedicated Relief Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide both individual and group support to people with mental health problems and their carers, helping them to achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.

As a Relief Support Worker, you will collaborate with service users to develop personalised support plans, work closely with other professionals to maintain effective referral procedures, and help promote the values of choice, self-help, and empowerment. You will assist service users in building relationships, developing essential life skills, and connecting with their local community. You will also be involved in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers who contribute to our services.

We are looking for someone with basic computer literacy skills and experience in social work, social care, or a related discipline. A good understanding of mental health issues and experience working with people with mental health problems would be advantageous. Ideally, you will hold an SVQ Level 3 qualification. This role requires empathy, the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team, and respect for our Christian ethos. You must also be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and complete the necessary vetting checks.

If you are compassionate, motivated, and ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply and become part of our team at Morven Day Services.

CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. During that time, we have worked hard to understand the needs of the people who turn to us for help and with them have been at the forefront of pioneering services which have literally changed thousands of lives for the better.

Today we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services. We are still growing, learning, and improving, thanks to the incredible people we have the privilege to support, and all those who support us. We are part of the Church of Scotland and aim to provide social care services and specialist resources in Christ’s name to further the caring work of the Church to people in challenging circumstances.

As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.

We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. We are required to check the entitlement to work in the UK of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category.

We are committed to ensuring that we attract, retain, and develop the very best people to build a diverse and talented team and we recognise that every individual’s unique background, experience and ability contributes to our success. We aim to create an inclusive and inspiring environment where individuals feel valued and respected and where people can belong, thrive and be their very best, whoever they are.
