Job Opportunity: Solicitor – Risk & Compliance (5+ PQE)
Location: Glasgow
Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Solicitor to join a dedicated Risk & Compliance team, supporting the firm’s regulatory, operational and strategic obligations. This role blends regulatory advisory work, process design and client-facing risk services, offering a varied and impactful position within a modern, forward-thinking legal environment.
Role Requirements:
- Advising Partners and Solicitors on professional conduct, LSS/SRA compliance and regulatory best practice
- Translating regulatory requirements into practical tools, guidance notes, templates and policies
- Providing guidance on conflicts, confidentiality, undertakings and conduct issues
- Supporting quality assurance, supervision standards, complaints handling and process improvements
- Designing and delivering training on professional practice and compliance topics
- Assisting with regulatory notifications, reporting and ensuring inspection-readiness
- Contributing to the development of the firm’s commercial risk & compliance offering, including client advisory work
- Supporting business development, proposals, tenders and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Experience:
- 5+ years’ PQE with experience in regulatory compliance or professional practice
- Strong understanding of professional conduct principles (ethics, conflicts, client care, supervision, complaints)
- Experience working with operational teams to implement risk and compliance controls
- Confident communicator able to explain complex requirements in a clear, practical way
- Comfortable contributing to business development and shaping service offerings
