Registered Nurse (RMN) (RNLD)

Job Description

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or a Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with a passion for delivering outstanding care. You’ll be working 40 hours a week at Cygnet Wallace Hospital, an 18 bed specialist high dependency complex care service in Dundee, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, some with autistic spectrum disorder, and other complex needs.

Job responsibilities

• Produce outstanding written reports based on your nursing assessments and observations.
• Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality.
• Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge and promote nursing practice.
• Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete and maintained collectively with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals.
• Administer medicines within healthcare procedures and Healthcare Commission guidelines.
• Support those with additional mental or physical health needs and those detained under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act.
• Accept emergency referrals and manage them quickly and efficiently to ensure smooth transition for service users.

Qualifications

• RMN or RNLD registration.
• Current Pin Number.
• Ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits and demonstrate integrity in your role.
• Good understanding of the latest nursing practices.
• Commitment to patient recovery and ability to monitor, manage and reduce risk.
• Compassion, resilience and a dedication to empower and support service user independence.

Desirable

• Ability to deputise in a clinical lead role.
• Interest in leadership, research and assessment.

Salary £22.92 per hour (£47,673.60 per annum).
