Reception / Administrator (30 hours per week)

We have an opportunity to join us as a Receptionist/Administrator on a permanent basis. This is a challenging yet rewarding post which allows the candidate to learn new skills and be part of an excellent team while working in a fast paced environment. Successful candidates will have a positive and friendly attitude along with a clear and confident telephone manner and confidence to deal with the general public, GPs, nurses and the wider practice team. Previous experience is advantageous but not necessary as full training is given within our team.

Hours and Schedule

• Tuesday 12pm – 5pm (5 hours)
• Wednesday 8am – 5pm (8 hours)
• Thursday 8am – 5pm (8 hours)
• Friday 8am – 5pm (9 hours) – working lunch break when practice closed for staff training

Responsibilities

• Receive and manage patient registrations and telephoning.
• Perform administrative duties supported by the practice team.
• Support staff during annual leave or absences.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude, friendly and confident telephone manner.
• Basic administrative skills or willingness to learn.
• Previous experience in a GP practice or similar environment is advantageous but not required.

Benefits and Compensation

Starting salary of £12.71 per hour, increasing with length of service (at 2 years and 5 years). Generous starting holiday entitlement of 5 weeks plus 10 public holidays (pro rated for part time staff), part uniform provided, full training on all telephone and clinical systems. Flexibility required to support periods of annual leave or absences.
