Job Description

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for the quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation. This position involves providing patient education and care while adhering to all regulatory compliance guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of the women’s health section of radiology.
  • Propose procedural and policy changes, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to all FDA guidelines for the mammography section.
  • Maintain records for accreditation processes and inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Complete daily quality assurance and preventative maintenance scheduling.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Mammography imaging procedures and protocols.
  • Review and document patient medical history and ensure informed consent.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health records (EHR) and manage inventory of supplies.
  • Assist with clerical duties and may perform other functions as required.
  • Participate in cross-training, adjusting schedules, and working overtime or holiday shifts as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Two years of experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist.
  • Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS is preferred.
