Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Surveyor/Estimator to join our team.
Successful applicant will be involved in the following duties reporting to Commercial Director:
Estimating:
- Monitor planning authority websites to identify work opportunities
- Pursue opportunities to obtain tenders for pricing
- Assess tender documents to ensure sufficient information is available to allow correct pricing
- Take off quantities from drawings
- Attend job sites to carry out surveys and clarify items on tender documents/drawings etc
- Pricing of joinerwork, decoration, small civils works
- Completion and submission of tenders
- Follow up of submitted tenders
- Post tender negotiations
Surveying:
- Maintain contract documentation and advise on pre tender and post contract matters
- Liase with clients and design teams
- Sub-contract negotiations and letting
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations
Site measurement
- Manage and value variations
- Agreement and certification of sub-contractor valuations and Final Accounts
Successful candidate should have the following skills:
- Good commercial acumen
- Ability to work as part of a close knit management team, manage numerous activities/projects simultaneously
- Outgoing personality for dealing directly with clients etc
- Good negotiation skills
- Flexibility to work across different areas of the business
- Trainee/Assistant role with relevant experience would be considered
