Job Description

Quantity Surveyor Scotland Wide Up to £57k DOE + Car Allowance + Package

First Task Professional are currently working alongside a civil engineering contractor who are gearing up for an extremely busy few years with multiple wins within big civil engineering projects in the energy / power sector.

As such, they have a requirement for QS s to work on projects in both the delivery stages and pre-construction.

Naturally, most substations and converter stations are in more remote locations so there is a high likelihood of having to work away (with hybrid working) for the jobs.

Role Profile:

  • Uphold safety and environmental standards per company policy.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, Managing QS, and engineering teams.
  • Supervise and mentor junior commercial staff.
  • Represent the company professionally in client meetings.
  • Manage supply chain commercial activities, including tendering, contract discussions, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Oversee subcontractor payments and final account negotiations.
  • Monitor site costs and produce timely performance data.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly cost reports to senior management.
  • Contribute commercial insights to project strategy and performance discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with Risk and Opportunity management protocols.
  • Promote and suggest improvements to company procedures.
  • Manage change processes and ensure timely payment applications.
  • Provide contractual advice to the site team.
  • Participate in site commercial meetings.
  • Manage your time and the commercial team efficiently.
  • Assist in delivering commercial training to site staff.
