Forge Inspector
Salary: Starting earnings of approximately £40,000 per annum, rising to approximately £41,000 following successful completion of probation, plus enhanced earning potential upon transition to continental shifts.

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join a leading manufacturing organisation. This position plays a vital role in ensuring precision-engineered products meet exact customer specifications and industry quality standards throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
- Inspect forged and machined components against engineering specifications.
- Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and process sheets.
- Record inspection findings and prepare reports.
- Identify and document non-conformances.
- Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
- Maintain excellent standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
About You
- Time-served apprenticeship with a background in inspection, engineering or manufacturing.
- Must be able to provide trade papers.
- Experience using manual precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of quality systems and procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Shift Pattern & Salary
- Initial shift pattern: 3-shift rotation
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Starting earnings: approximately £40,000 per annum
- Earnings increase to approximately £41,000 per annum after successful completion of probation
Following a training and probation period, the role is expected to move onto a continental shift pattern with enhanced shift premiums. Applicants should be comfortable with this planned transition.
