Job Description

Position Summary

Pupil Support Worker at St Crispin’s School – a special school for primary and secondary age pupils with complex, long term additional support needs primarily associated with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Working Hours and Salary

Salary: £27,257 – £29,850 (pro rate for part time and sessional)

Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional. Working pattern: Monday Thursday 8:30 a.m. 3:35 p.m.; Friday 8:25 a.m. 1:20 p.m.

Facilities

New building in Burdiehouse (early 2022) with 12 classrooms, Art, Music, Home Economics classrooms, a PE hall and swimming pool, sensory and softplay rooms.

Role Description

Each class has a maximum of 6 learners. Pupil Support Workers work as part of a class team, along with the class teacher, to support each learner to reach their full potential.

Requirements

Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder is desirable.

Applications are subject to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Candidates must either join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check and provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check if they have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years.

Conditional offer and commencement will depend on satisfactory pre employment checks.
