Public Procurement Solicitor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a public procurement Solicitor to join a growing commercial team advising on a broad range of non contentious procurement matters, based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen. This role offers the chance to work closely with experienced colleagues, develop specialist expertise and gain exposure to a varied client base across both the public and private sectors.

The Role

You will advise clients on a range of procurement matters, supporting them throughout the procurement process and providing practical, commercially focused legal advice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on procurement strategy, contract awards, contract variations and regulatory compliance
  • Drafting and reviewing procurement documentation and related contractual agreements
  • Supporting clients through procurement exercises and helping to identify and resolve legal and commercial issues
  • Advising clients throughout tender processes and assisting with procurement related queries
  • Working alongside colleagues on a variety of commercial projects where procurement expertise is required
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives where appropriate

About You

You will be a qualified Solicitor with approximately 1-5 years’ PQE and experience of, or a genuine interest in, procurement law.

You should also have:

  • Strong drafting, analytical and legal research skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building abilities
  • A commercial, pragmatic approach to delivering advice
  • The ability to manage your own workload while working collaboratively as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to develop your technical expertise
