Hexagon Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a global logistics leader in their search for a Project Specialist to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen. This is a key operational role, focusing on delivering high-performance freight solutions within the Oil & Gas and Industrial Projects sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced freight forwarding professional with a background in project cargo, air/sea freight, or Oil & Gas logistics to step into a varied and rewarding position.

The Role Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle logistics for international project shipments across all transport modes (Air, Sea, Road).

  • Receive and verify customer purchase order details; ensure accurate and timely processing.

  • Liaise with suppliers on cargo readiness, terms of sale, and documentation.

  • Arrange collections, deliveries, packing, and cargo consolidation.

  • Prepare and process export/import documentation, ensuring compliance with HMRC, IATA, GDP, and CAA regulations.

  • Book cargo space with carriers and maintain shipping schedules.

  • Use in-house and customer-specific IT systems for tracking and documentation.

  • Provide high-quality service and communication to clients, suppliers, and overseas offices.

  • Work closely with warehouse, customs, and operations teams to meet deadlines.

  • Maintain invoicing accuracy and financial accountability through correct accruals.

  • Adhere to all Health & Safety, TAPA, and security policies.

What We re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Freight Forwarding, ideally within Oil & Gas or Industrial Projects.

  • Strong knowledge of international air/sea/road freight operations.

  • Familiarity with UK customs formalities and export compliance.

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset.

  • Competent user of Word, Excel, and freight tracking systems.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of French or other European languages is a plus.

  • Flexible and adaptable willing to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.

  • Prior experience with heavy sea freight, project cargo, or renewable energy projects (offshore/onshore wind) is a strong advantage.

  • Professional, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
