Job Summary

Our Procurement Business Partner will be motivated by our Vision and our Values to work with our operational teams to deliver the radical change that Zero Waste Scotland intends to deliver.

Reporting to, and working closely with the Procurement and Grants Manager, this role will support the identification, delivery and monitoring of key procurement activity aimed at maximising our organisations impact on the circular economy in Scotland.

We are looking for someone with experience of end to end procurement activity and the ability to help deliver the procurement activity needed to deliver our Corporate Plan.

This role will be specifically responsible for working with colleagues on the delivery of tenders and other procurement activity, as well as helping to develop our internal procurement processes to deliver efficient and effective procurement activity.

We want you if;

You have the following skills:

  • Experience of leading on end to end procurement activity (public sector experience is desireable);
  • A good working knowledge of MS365 applications;
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders that focus on developing understanding of the benefits of professional procurement;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Strong team working skills, with high levels of self-motivation and flexibility;
  • A desire to promote best practice procurement and value for money activity.

What you’ll be doing;

  • Proactively support and partner with colleagues within the Procurement and Grants team, and the wider organisation to lead on all relevant aspects of the procurement cycle, including development, tendering and contract and supplier relationship management, driving the very best practices that will contribute to recognition of Zero Waste Scotland as a leader in sustainable procurement.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organisations to progress procurement activity associated with planning and delivery of activity across the organisation.
  • Ensure that all procurement activity complies with Zero Waste Scotland’s governance requirements and with the relevant national legislation.
  • Undertake a range of procurement exercises in support of the Corporate Plan to deliver maximum value from investments, including delivery of costs savings, enhancing supplier performance and minimising the environmental impact of our contracted spend.

While this role is home-based there may be the requirement for some travel to/within Scotland. There will be times when you’re required to attend our Stirling office or a client location (normally within the Central Belt of Scotland). The office is located next to the railway station and is conveniently accessed from across central Scotland.
