Description

Drafting and preparing wills, powers of attorney, and guardianship applications.

Assisting with the administration of estates, including applying for Confirmation, liaising with executors and beneficiaries, and collecting/distributing assets.

Supporting the team in managing trusts and related documentation.

Conducting legal research, preparing client correspondence, and maintaining accurate case files.

Communicating with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, HMRC, and the Office of the Public Guardian (Scotland).

Assisting solicitors in more complex matters and providing general case management support.

Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and professional standards (including Law Society of Scotland rules).

Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
Profile

Strong knowledge of Scottish private client law and practice (wills, executries, powers of attorney, etc.).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.

Proficient in using case management systems and Microsoft Office.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
-
Paralegal qualification accredited by the Law Society of Scotland.

Experience working in a busy legal team handling high volumes of private client work.

Familiarity with Inheritance Tax forms and estate accounting procedures.
