Description

Drafting wills, powers of attorney, and basic trust documentation

Assisting in the administration of estates, including preparing inventory, confirmation (Scottish probate), and inheritance tax forms

Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, executors, and other professionals
-
Preparing and submitting applications for guardianship and intervention orders
-
Conducting legal research and staying up to date with relevant Scottish legislation and case law
-
Assisting with inheritance tax planning and asset protection strategies
-
Maintaining accurate case files and ensuring compliance with Law Society of Scotland and internal protocols
-
Supporting solicitors in client meetings and taking notes as required

Handling client communications in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner

Ensuring confidentiality and data protection compliance at all times
Profile
-
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a private client role within a Scottish legal setting
-
Sound understanding of Scottish succession law and executry procedures
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files efficiently
-
High level of discretion and empathy when dealing with clients in sensitive situations
-
Proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office
