Salary and Hours

Salary: £34,938 – £52,614 (Pro-rata for part-time)

Hours: 12.95 per week

About the School

St. Catherine’s is a Roman Catholic Primary School situated in the Gracemount area of Edinburgh. Built in 1966, the school serves a wide catchment area and caters to a diverse student body from Scottish, Eastern European, Asian and African families.

We are a Parish and Learning Community where stakeholders significantly influence the school’s direction and professional development. An active Parent Council supports learner experiences and provides fundraising opportunities for pupils and families.

We currently have a school roll of 215 pupils, 7 classes and a 20 capacity Nursery.

Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible individual to join our Teaching Team. This post is line managed by the Head Teacher and supported by the Senior Management Team.

Responsibilities

Teachers are responsible for seeking approval of the Bishop of a Diocese for appointment to any post in a Catholic School in that area. For details, visit

Regulation and Checks

This post requires regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where a candidate has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to satisfactory completion of these checks.
